Tom Stapleton
Dentist GDC 244580General dentist with a special interest in root canal treatment, seeing patients in Knaresborough and Harrogate.
I feel lucky to do work that changes how people feel day to day, whether that's getting someone out of pain or giving them back a smile they're happy with.
I've completed thousands of hours of additional training so that treatment is as comfortable and predictable as possible.
If anxiety has kept you away from the dentist, you're not alone and you won't be judged. We'll start with a conversation.

White fillings use composite resin to fill cavities formed from decay or fractures. They are more aesthetic than amalgam (silver fillings).
-
A root canal treatment is where the root canal within the tooth is disinfected to kill any bacteria present so that a root filling can be provided to prevent further bacterial entry into the tooth.
-
A dental crown/onlay are tooth-shaped cap/coverings that are placed over or on your tooth. It’s a permanent solution, and once it’s fixed in place, a crown/onlay should look, feel and function just like any other tooth.
-
This is where one or two adjacent teeth are crowned and extra tooth (pontic) is placed in the space attached to the crown(s). This is a fixed option, but can require the adjacent tooth to be prepared to take a crown. Resin retained bridges are similar but don’t require any tooth preparation in most cases.
-
Removable replacements for one or several missing teeth, in acrylic or metal. For some patients I start with a transitional denture, so you can try your new smile and adjust gradually.
-
When a tooth can't be saved, I'll remove it as gently as possible and talk you through your options for replacing the gap.
-
Assessing how your teeth meet, and rebuilding teeth that are worn, chipped or broken down.
